The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the improving of family educational, informational and cultural environment, contributing to cross-border social and economic development.
Main estimated direst results of the project are listed below:
- One library in Marijampole (Lithuania) of 289 m2 in area reconstructed.
- One library in Chernyakhovsk (Russia) of 226.9 m2 in area renovated.
- Functional zones with equipment adapted for users’ needs set up in two libraries, 2 sets of books, music, games and film records in CD and DVD formats purchased.
- One website designed in Russian, Lithuanian and English languages for dissemination of information, cognition, partnership and cooperation.
- Two exhibitions of creative works, two mobile exhibitions and 10 meetings of “Reading Families’ Club” organized.
- One educational programme developed for further organization of 96-hours introductory training courses in Marijampole (10 events for 70 participants) and Chernyakhovsk (10 events for 60 participants).
- Published publication "Library for family: challenges and opportunities " (500 copies).
- One joint international conference organized for 100 participants in Marijampole (Lithuania) in order to summarize the results of project partnership and cooperation of libraries while realizing the concept “A Library for Family”.
