HEALTH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT

Seminar on care and health prevention held at the Agros Hotel in Ketrzyn on 12th of  March 2013 has launched the project: "Health is the most important - health prophylactic of inhabitants in Ozyrsk and Kętrzyn Community”.


During the inauguration of the project information has been presented on the health status of the population in the Warmia and Mazury and the Oziersk Region with risks and possible  damages caused by the most common on the Polish and Russian side of the boarder diseases: cardiovascular disease and cancer. Ms Beata Ostrzycka - medical expert of the project, related to the Oncology Centre in Olsztyn has made a lecture concerning the good lifestyle, eating habits, observation of own health and the need of serious attitude to the health prevention – nowadays margined, as for example population of Warmia and Mazury use only half of cost free medical examinations proposed by the state. Therefore, the next step of the project are educational activities among the population - young people and adults will have a chance to participate in several meetings with medical consultants.

Other EU funds allocated for the project will be used to renovate and equip consulting rooms and nurses rooms at schools in Kętrzyn Community, it is also planned to purchase the medical equipment for the Regional Hospital in Oziersks.

It should be emphasized that these local governments are performing actions on their own initiative bearing in mind in particular the need for easy access to the medical service and quality of that healthcare services to their residents.
