THE FIRST WORKING MEETING OF THE PROJECT 038 WAS HELD IN KALININGRAD ON MARCH 27, 2013

The project "Development of tourist-recreational infrastructure on the basis of restoration and preservation of historical-cultural heritage of the urban parks" is implemented under the Partnership Agreement signed in January 2013 between Administration of Kaliningrad Urban District ‘The City of Kaliningrad’ and Administration of Jurbarkas District Municipality (Lithuania) under the Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI CBC Programme 2007-2013.


The main objective of the project is to restore cultural heritage and develop the tourism and recreation potential of the historical landscape parks: Maks-Ashmann Park in Kaliningrad and the Vasilčikov’s Mansion Park in Jurbarkas. The results of the project will be the following: improvement of parks and their landscaping, development of joint tourism products, cooperation in the field of culture and tourism, improvement of urban green areas. The project is co-financed by the European Union under the Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI CBC Programme 2007-2013; total budget of the project is 2,577million Euro.

The following persons participated in the meeting:
- Gaiva Mačiulaitiene, Project Coordinator in Jurbarkas;
-Arūnas Čepulis, Head of the Investments and Strategic Planning Department in Jurbarkas District Municipality;
-Natalia Sharoshina, Project Coordinator in Kaliningrad;
-Natalia Lelet, Project Manager in Kaliningrad;
-Julia Galaktionova, Assistant to the Project Manager in Kaliningrad;
-Vladimir Kuzin, Head of Economic Development Department, Kaliningrad City Administration. 

The meeting enabled its participants to discuss various issues on the implementation of the project including Activities Plan. 

Also as part of the working groups the participants visited Maks-Ashmann Park, anticipating its restoration and reconstruction.

Such meetings are expected to become regular events as they should contribute to the succesful implementation of the project which will go on untill November 2014.
