THE KICK-OFF CONFERENCE LAUNCHING ONE OF HEALTH-CARE PROJECTS WAS HELD IN KALININGRAD

The kick-off conference launching one of the major EC financed health-care projects was held in Kaliningrad on April 5, 2013. The project is targeted at the building of modern emergency medicine system.

The project called “Development of modern emergency medicine units through the infrastructure modernization, extending of decisions support systems and increasing medical benefits based on the cross-border cooperation” has the budget of over 2,7 million euro.
Financial support will be provided to the City Ambulance Station in Kaliningrad and Provincial Multi-field Hospital in Elbląg (Poland). The overall objective of the project is to improve the efficiency of medical lifesaving services at the cross-border area in Poland and Russia.
‘The project should eventuate in the streamlined material and technical base of the medical lifesaving services with overall improvement of their operation at the cross-border area in Poland and Russia,’ said the representatives of Regional Government Press Service.
With new equipment the emergency call service is expected to offer shorter response and arrival time and improved diagnosing services. Also sharing of best international first aid practices and raising public awareness about first-aid measures will result in overall improvement of medical care.
The conference was attended by more than 40 persons, including:
- Victor Anokhin, Local Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund Director;
- Sergey Yuspin, First Deputy Chairman for the Kaliningrad Regional Parliament;
- Elena Rusina, Head of Public Medical Care Management and Development Department;
- Ekaterina Vilenskaya, Kaliningrad Regional Agency for International and Interregional Relations;
- Mikhail Chesalin, Deputy Chairman for the Standing Committee on Legislation, State-Building, Local Government and Regulations.
- Ruslan Kabisov, 1st Outpatient Hospital Head Doctor
- Sergey Kulikov, 3rd Municipal Hospital Head Doctor
During the conference main project implementation stages have been presented. Also the action plan for the coming two years has been discussed.
