GROUPS OF ACTORS FROM KLAIPEDA, ELBLAG AND KALININGRAD PARTICIPATE IN THE JOINT WORKSHOPS AND PREPARES TO THE TRILINGUAL W. SHAKESPEARE “ROMEO AND JULIET” PERFORMANCE STAGING

One of the planned activities - workshop in Kaliningrad - of Project “Multicultural dialog – Multicultural theatres – strengthening social and cultural integration of border areas”, No ILPR.02.02.00-28-098/10 co-financed by the 2007-2013 Lithuania, Poland and Russia ENPI cross-border cooperation programme was organized from 29 June 2013 to 1 July 2013. The event was attended by actors and project coordinators of Klaipeda State Music Theatre (Lithuania), Aleksander Sewruk’s Theatre in Elblag (Poland) and Drama Theatre in Kaliningrad (Russia). The participants of the workshop were acquainted with the history of Russian theatre and activities of the Drama Theatre in Kaliningrad, and took part in the practical lessons of fencing art, stage movement and signing.

During this event the creative meeting between Miroslaw Siedler, Director and Producer of A. Sewruk’s Theatre in Elblag, Ramunas Kaubrys, Director and Producer of Klaipeda State Music Theatre, Producer Ruta Bunikyte (Lithuania), Michail Andrejev, Art Director of the Drama Theatre in Kaliningrad and Michail Salesс, Head and Producer of Drama Theatre in Kaliningrad was organized.
This year analogical workshop has been already organized in A. Sewruk’s Theatre in Elblag from 30 April to 2 May.  The guests will visit Klaipeda State Music Theatre from 29 September to 1 October, where despite practical lessons of fencing art, stage movement and signing, the history and literature of Lithuanian theatre and history of Klaipeda State Music Theatre will be presented.
The goal of these workshops is to develop artistry and skills necessary on the stage, also to share the common experiences and create connections between participating theatrical groups from Lithuania, Poland and Russia. Understanding of the history and literature of each country’s theatre and traditions contributes to the better reciprocal understanding of different groups, ensure cultural and social integration of project participants.
Trilingual combined performances of W. Shakespeare “Romeo and Juliet” will be presented at A. Sewruk’s Theatre in Elblag on the November 2013 and on the January 2014 at the Klaipeda State Music Theatre (Lithuania) and on the April 2014 at the Drama Theatre in Kaliningrad. It is planned to show 5 performances in each country, in which entrance for the spectators will be free.
Initiator of this project, Miroslaw Siedler, director and producer of beneficiary’s A. Sewruk’s Theatre in Elblag thinks that “multilingual theatre – it is a Theatre of future”. There is no other ways, than to search for new not only verbal language communication forms in the contemporary cosmopolitical world, creating multicultural dialogue, which could be easily integrated into cultural and social environment trough the cooperation of  artists from different countries.
