On 21 September 2013 and the surrounding days, you can join your “neighbour” in celebrating the achievements of more than 20 years of territorial cooperation in Europe in your region.

During the Mikołajki event our Programme had the unique occasion to present to the wider public what the Programme is about, what are it’s main priorities, objectives and projects supported and co-financed by European Union under the Programme. This is why we invited representatives of our projects, who could show their work and achievements to the public.

Ten cross-border initiatives were presented during “Project’s Fair”. Among others the project „Lagoons as crossroads for tourism and interaction of peoples of South-East Baltic: from the history to present - CROSSROADS 2” (project 001) showed how jewelry had been made in the age of Viking’s and invited everybody to common “Baltic Dance”.

Representatives from Pagegiai (Lithuania) – projects 040 and 186 - offered guests tasteful cheese and tea and allowed ourselves to discover how the cheese is traditionally made.

On the stand of Eco-initiative Association from Kwidzyń (Poland), the Beneficiary of the project 079 “Citizens with eco initiative” we could observe the lifeline of paper and interesting facts about trees growth.

Project 060 “Muzeum over the borders” presented “Mistery Box”, a very interesting tool for conducting museum lessons. During this special day the participants could also view the awarded works of children from “Lithuania-Poland-Russia – neighbours, partners and friends” drawing contest, organized by JTS in may and june 2013. The artworks were presented in special tent, where kids were given opportunity to draw their own pictures and to have their faces painted.

Hundreds of guests came to the main market of Mikołajki to take actively part in the happenings and have occasion to see how the Programme helps to develop cross-border cooperation on Lithuanian-Polish-Russian borders. We handed over 1000 balloons, almost 20 kg of sweets, a lot of flags, and other promotional items and, what is the most important, answered hundreds of questions about our Programme and the projects implementation.
