In 12 of April 2014 a new sport hall was opened in Palanga, financed by the Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI CBC Programme 2007-2013, as part of the project “Baltic Touristic Games – know-how for development of tourism potential of Baltic Region” (No. LPR1/010/181).

The building of Palanga sport hall has a unique shape – it resembles a wave of the sea approaching the land. In the area of 4 thousand square meters several competitions of different sport types can be held at the same time, as the hall can be transformed in to several different areas. The movable tribunes with 1100 seats were equipped for the viewers. For the convenience of the athletes – professionals and non-professionals – several gyms and locker rooms were equipped.
The Prime Minister of Lithuania Algirdas Butkevičius, President of Lithuanian Basketball Federation Arvydas Sabonis and other important guests took part in the opening ceremony of the sport hall. After opening the sport hall was tested by the strongest teams of the National Basketball League.
The new sport hall will create good conditions for Lithuanian and foreign sportsmen to train and prepare for responsible competitions all year round in Palanga.

is co-financed with the funds from the European Union
