INAUGURATION OF THE SPORT COMPLEX IN PAGĖGIAI

On the 9th of August, 2014, in the Municipality of Pagėgiai (Lithuania) next to the Pagėgiai basic school the sport complex was opened together with partners of the project “Joint actions for solving of joint youth problems“ from Šilalė (Lithuania) and Sovetsk (Kaliningrad district, Russian Federation).

The sport complex consists of fields for mini football, basketball and skateboards.


Friendly tournaments of basketball and football were organised, where two teams “Lithuania” and “Russia” competed.

Skateboarders from Sovetsk demonstrated a breath catching show on the skateboarding field.

Participants of the international camp in Mociškiai (Pagėgiai municipality, Lithuania) danced “flashmob” dance in order to test the cover of basketball and football fields.

The complex, which will be used for active sport and leisure, was consecrated by the priest of the Pagėgiai parish Vytautas Gedvainis. Welcome speeches were given by the Mayor of the Pagėgiai municipality Virginijus Komskis, member of Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Artūras Skardžius, Mayor of Sovetsk city Nikolaj Voiyshchev, representative of Šilalė district municipality Jovita Voverienė, director of the Pagėgiai municipality administration and project manager Dainora Butvydienė, representative of the contractor JSC “Meliovesta” Bronius Budvytis, elder of Pagėgiai town Dainius Maciukevičius.
