STEP CLOSER TO SAVE SOMEBODY’S LIFE

Conference held on February 16 2015 completed the implementation of project lead by the Provincial Integrated Hospital in Elblag (Poland). Project "Development of modern emergency medicine units through the infrastructure modernization, extending of decisions support systems and increasing medical benefits based on the cross-border cooperation" Hospital realized in cooperation with the City Ambulance Station in Kaliningrad (Russia).


EU funding received from the Programme made it possible to perform modernization of the Unit of Emergency Medicine in polish hospital (on the Orzeszkowej 6 Street). Thus, the hospital became one of the most modern medical rescue bases in the country additionally outfitted with five up-to-date medical ambulances with equipment, high-tech telemedical system consisting of defibrillators Zoll X Series (9 pieces), local server with specialized programs, seven devices for automatic non-invasive cardiac massage LUKAS 2, a digital communications system serving the notification of departure, data and localization teams away (installed in ambulances), software and decision support, data transfer and location of ambulances systems (installed in the control room on the Orzeszkowej 6 Street), phantoms for training designed to learn rescue techniques, two video laryngoscopes and two disinfection facilities for ambulances. Additionally, conference room located in the main building of the Hospital was modernised and the staff of both hospitals attended joint trainings.

Due to the implementation of project worth 2 188 386.27 EUR, co-financed by the ENPI CBC Programme Lithuania-Poland-Russia with the amount of 1 969 547.64 EUR, Integrated Provincial Hospital in Elblag has the equipment at the highest technological level in the Warmia and Mazury Region and one of the most advanced in the country.
