Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013 BW


On 15-17th of June 2015 a final conference dedicated to the closure of the Project "Lagoons as crossroads for tourism and interactions of peoples of South-East Baltic: from the history to present (CROSSROADS 2.0)" took place. This Project is being implemented in the framework of the Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI CBC Programme 2007-2013.

Besides I. Kant Baltic Federal University, the Beneficiary, there are 12 more participants from Poland, Lithuania and Kaliningrad region in this Project. This is the largest Project in the Programme in terms of number of participants.

Among guests who took part in the opening ceremony there are Artem Jurov, Vice-Rector for Research of I. Kant Baltic Federal University, Alla Ivanova, Minister, Head of Agency for Foreign Affairs and Interregional Cooperation, Andrey Ermak, Minister of Tourism of the Kaliningrad Region. The honorary guest of the Conference was a representative of the General Consulate of Lithuanian Republic in Kaliningrad. 

During the first and the second days of the conference partners of the Project presented results of the main and most important activities implemented  to further develop the cross-border region adjacent to Curonian and Vistula Lagoons. Participants of the conference also presented the jointly developed documents aimed at supporting and preserving of the region’s heritage: - Joint Strategy and Action Plan for preservation and sustainable use of natural resources and historical heritage of the cross-border region; - Recommendations for small and medium-sized enterprises operating  on territories adjacent to Curonian and Vistula Lagoons. 

The final day of the conference was spent on the Curonian Spit in the open-air museum of vikings “Ancient Sambia”. This museum was built in the framework of the Project’s activities. Participants of the conference got acquainted with its exhibit s and technical features of the construction.
