Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013 BW


On 19th of June 2015 an international closing conference under the project "High Quality Surgery over Borders" took place. The Project was launched in November, 2012. Partners of the Project are Regional Clinical Hospital of the Kaliningrad region (Russia), Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, Medical Department (Russia), University of Warmia and Mazury Medical Department (Poland), University Hospital of the University of Warmia and Mazury (Poland).

The total budget of the Project is 2 222 222.22 EUR, EU contribution is 2 000 000.00 EUR

The main objective of the project was foundation of the transboundary system of education and advanced training for surgeons and students through creation of transboundary educational centers in Kaliningrad (Russia) and Olsztyn (Poland).

Among participants of the closing conference were representatives of partners of the project and its final beneficiaries – students, lecturers, surgeons, trainers of the simulation centers.  Unfortunately, polish colleagues were not able to come to Kaliningrad, but modern telecommunication technologies allowed conducting the conference in video on-line mode (over Skype). Participants of the conference shared their impressions on trainings which were on both sides of the border. The management of the project made presentations and speeches about achieved results. 


Alisher Sultanov, coordinator of the project said:” Partners of the project have intention to continue exchange of students and doctors on regular basis after the completion of the project. Corss-border educational centers became the base for the future development of Polish-Russian cooperation. We believe that the results of our activities will have positive effect on quality of life of the residents of the Polish and Russian border regions and on the health services which will be more professional and effective”.
