Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013 BW



On the 26th of September the European Cooperation Run was held in Nida resort at Curonian Spit in Lithuania for the second consecutive year. This was a part of the traditional Nida semi-marathon event, which was co-organised by the Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013.

5,4 kilometres-long distance, named the European Cooperation Run, was held in commemoration of the European Cooperation Day, celebrated all over Europe for the 4th time already. This is an open presentation to the wide public of the joint projects, implemented by organisations from different countries. Such initiatives enable solving common problems effectively and learning to cooperate across the state borders.

167 people from Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Latvia took part in the European Cooperation Run. Justinas Križinauskas from Šiauliai came the winner, having spent 17 minutes and 48 seconds on the run. The fastest woman was Viktorija Varnagirytė from Vilkaviškis with the time 23 minutes and 2 seconds. From the Lithuania-Poland-Russia Programme, the first was the representative of the Programme project Pavel Elizarov from Ozersk, Russia (project LPR1/010/152) with time 23 minutes and 21 seconds.

The Programme invited all the people, connected in one way or another with the implementation of the Programme to take part in the event: representatives of the Programme bodies, project implementers, as well as representatives of other cross-border programmes. The challenge was accepted by the employees of the Lithuanian, Polish and Russian Branch Offices of the Programme, the implementers of the projects LPR1/010/019 (40 trainees and coaches of Šilalė sports school), LPR1/010/084 and LPR1/010/152, as well as representatives of the Latvia-Lithuania-Belarus Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013. 49 persons in total. When summed up, this makes 264,6 kilometres, which were ran by enthusiasts of healthy lifestyle for the sake of European Cooperation.

In total, over 700 people took part in the festival of Nida semi-marathon. All of them received the promotion gadgets of the Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013.
