Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013 BW



On the 13 July 2012 the first grant contract on co-financing a project submitted within the first call for proposals of the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Lithuania-Poland-Rusia 2007-2013 was signed between the Joint Managing Authority (Ministry of Regional Development of Poland) and Pisz District Municipality (Poland).

The concluded Grant contract launches the contracting process of 53 regular projects selected for the financial support under the first call for proposals within the Programme.

The remaining projects will be contracted in the nearest future after fulfillment of all conditions set by the Joint Monitoring Committee. The full list of contracted projects you can find here.

The Project of Pisz District Municipality and its partners: Mamonovo City Administration (Russian Federation) and Alytus District Municipality Administration (Lithuania) under the title "Protected environment - healthy young generation" will be granted the co-financing of 2.341.319,40 euro.

The overall idea of the project is to contribute to reduction of the consumption of non-renewable energy sources in the border area. The project envisages activities in the three areas:

  • increasing the knowledge and skills about energy saving among citizens living in the cross-border regions (the citizens will learn how to save energy in their everyday activities, how to choose energy efficient products, how to influence the authorities and other inhabitants of the region to act in an environmental friendly way);
  • reduction of environmental pollution (through the modernization of 8 objects the energy consumption in buildings will be significantly decreased, which will lead to reduction of energy consumption and pollution);
  • extending cooperation for the environmental protection action in the border area (the established contacts will help to realize other projects and objectives regarding cross-border environmental initiatives in the future).

The main project results will be: conclusion of building works, prepared building documentations (feasibility study, technical documentation, environmental evaluation), conferences, study visits, trainings, contest for kids regarding environmental protection and the use of sustainable energy.
