CONTRACTING PROCEDURE SUCCESSFULLY FINALIZED FOR ANOTHER PROJECT

Another Grant Contract within the first call for proposals of the Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013 was countersigned by the Joint Managing Authority (Ministry of Regional Development of Poland) and project applicant.

The Klaipeda Regional Custom Office (Lithuania) together with its partners from similar Lithuanian and Russian organizations will realize the project of improvement of the state border accessibility between two countries by increasing throughput capacity of border control points (BCP) of Panemunė-Sovetsk and Kybartai-Černyševskoe. Total budget of the project is 4.0 million EUR.
The project directly contributes to the Priority 1 and measure 1.2 – Accessibility improvement – of the Programme by development of the border related infrastructure and services thus promoting efficient functioning of the border control and customs services, significantly improving the traffic control procedures, shortening the border crossing time, improving risk analysis and quality of the collected data that will promote the economic development and cooperation in both countries. These results will be achieved through installation of modern, high flow capacity x-ray equipment at the Panemunė-Sovetsk and Kybartai-Černyševskoe international BCPs and by organizing of several joint training events.
