NEW SPORT HALL IN PALANGA WILL BECOME A NEW ATTRACTION FOR DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL TOURISTS

Grant Contract with total budget of app. 2.8 million EUR was signed between JMA and Palanga Town Municipality Administration (Lithuania) under the Priority 2, Measure 2.1 – Tourism development. Administration of Palanga municipality and its project partner – administration of Svetlogorsk municipality will implement cross-border sport project – “Baltic Touristic Games – know-how for development of tourism potential of Baltic Region”.

Project activities will ensure better active tourism and sports possibilities in the border area and will attract more sport tourists. Overall objective is one of the main priorities for both Kaliningrad region and Lithuania. Therefore, every relevant activity in this project is strongly supported by the regional and municipal authorities. One of the main activities of this project the construction of the sports hall in Palanga will definitely become a new attraction for domestic and international tourists and for local population also. Common sport events that are planned to be held in two partner cities will enhance cross border cooperation and mutual understanding between two neighboring countries. The project will positively affect social, economic and territorial development.
