MODERNIZATION OF YACHT MARINA AND PORT ON BALTIC SEASIDE WILL ATTRACT MORE TOURISTS

Following Grant Contract within the first call for proposals of the Lithuania-Poland-Russia ENPI Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013 was signed by the Joint Managing Authority (Ministry of Regional Development of Poland) and project applicant - Sztutowo Commune (Poland).

Project “Baltic Amber Coast. Development of crossborder area through building up and modernization of tourism infrastructure” was submitted by Sztutowo Commune (Poland) together with partners who represent Polish and Russian municipal authorities. This 2-year project will receive co-financing of 2 356 247,30 EUR. Overall objective of this project is development of tourism potential and increase of tourist traffic in the cross-border cooperation area through the creation of the tourism product Baltic Amber Coast.
Within the project it is planned to undertake several infrastructural activities such as modernization of yacht marina in Sztutowo (Poland) and development of facilities in yacht port in Krynica Morska (Poland) and also several promotional activities, for example regattas, publications, etc. which will help to strengthen potential of partner municipalities to attract tourists, to give local economy additional source of income in tourist industry and establish the sustainable recognition of “Baltic Amber Coast” as a new tourist product.
